Discrepancy Notes
- Power Specification:
- Industry attributes list power as 2KW (~2.68 HP), while product parameters specify 4.0 HP (~2.98 KW). The 4.0 HP value is more consistent with a 132 cc gasoline engine and is assumed correct.
- Gross Weight:
- Listed as “Single gross weigH” (incomplete). Based on other LEO models (e.g., LM40-E, LM40Li-L), it’s likely 50.000 kg, but confirmation with the supplier is recommended.
- Comparison with Earlier LM40-E:
- The earlier LM40-E (GP99/GP79) had a 99 cc or 79 cc engine with 3.0 HP. The LM40-E(NP130) has a larger 132 cc engine and 4.0 HP, indicating an upgraded version of the same model line.

Key Attributes Highlight
The LM40-E(NP130) stands out for:
- Upgraded Gasoline Power: 4.0 HP and 132 cc engine provide more power than the earlier LM40-E (3.0 HP, 99 cc) and LM40Li-L (600W), but less than LM46Z-2L (4.0 HP, 139 cc) and LM56Ze-2L-P (6.5 HP, 196 cc). Ideal for small to medium lawns.
- Compact Cutting Width: 40 cm matches LM40-E and LM40Li-L, suitable for smaller areas, but narrower than LM46Z-2L (46 cm) and LM56Ze-2L-P (56 cm).
- Lightweight Design: At 18 kg, it’s the lightest alongside the earlier LM40-E, compared to LM40Li-L (22 kg), LM46Z-2L (33.5 kg), and LM56Ze-2L-P (37 kg).
- Hand Push: Matches LM40-E and LM40Li-L for simplicity, but lacks the self-propelled systems of LM46Z-2L and LM56Ze-2L-P, requiring more user effort.
- Rear Discharge: Like LM40-E and LM40Li-L, but less versatile than the 3-in-1 discharge (mulching, rear, side) of LM46Z-2L and LM56Ze-2L-P.
- Plastic Deck: Lightweight but less durable than the steel decks of LM40Li-L, LM46Z-2L, and LM56Ze-2L-P.
- DIY-Friendly: Features like folding handle, height adjustable handles (7 positions), and a 45-litre grass bag make it easy to use for small-scale lawn care.
- Certifications: CE, GS, TUV ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, matching most other models.
Analysis
- Performance:
- LM40-E(NP130) (4.0 HP, 132 cc) is more powerful than the earlier LM40-E (3.0 HP) and LM40Li-L (600W), but less than LM46Z-2L (4.0 HP, 139 cc) and LM56Ze-2L-P (6.5 HP). It’s suitable for small to medium lawns with moderate grass density.
- Smaller fuel tank (0.60 litre) compared to LM40-E (1.0 litre), LM46Z-2L (1.3 litre), and LM56Ze-2L-P (1.3 litre) may require more frequent refueling.
- Versatility:
- Rear-only discharge and 45-litre grass bag align with LM40-E and LM40Li-L, but are less flexible than the 3-in-1 discharge and 70-litre bags of LM46Z-2L and LM56Ze-2L-P.
- Cutting width (40 cm) and height range (25–75 mm, 7 positions) match LM40-E and are similar to LM40Li-L (6 positions), offering good adjustability for small lawns.
- Design and Comfort:
- Plastic deck and 18 kg weight ensure easy maneuverability, matching LM40-E but less durable than the steel decks of LM40Li-L, LM46Z-2L, and LM56Ze-2L-P.
- Lacks soft grip handle, like LM40-E and LM40Li-L, unlike the more comfortable LM46Z-2L and LM56Ze-2L-P.
- Pull start is simple but less convenient than LM56Ze-2L-P’s electric start.
- Logistics:
- Container load (438 units in 40′ HQ) matches LM40-E and LM40Li-L, higher than LM46Z-2L (270 units) and LM56Ze-2L-P (215 units), reflecting its compact design.
- Packaging size (96 x 64 x 58 cm) is consistent with other models; gross weight is assumed to be 50.000 kg, pending confirmation.
- Applications:
- Like the others, it suits gardens, parks, greenbelts, grasslands, and golf courses but is best for smaller areas due to its compact width, moderate power, and hand-push design.
Recommendations
- Choose LM40-E(NP130) for:
- Small to medium lawns needing more power (4.0 HP) than the earlier LM40-E (3.0 HP) or LM40Li-L (600W) but not requiring self-propulsion.
- Budget-conscious DIY users prioritizing lightweight design (18 kg) and gasoline-powered reliability without runtime limits.
- Choose LM40-E (GP99/GP79) for:
- Similar small lawns but with slightly less power (3.0 HP) and potentially lower cost.
- Choose LM40Li-L for:
- Small lawns where eco-friendliness, quiet operation, and cordless electric power (35-minute runtime) are priorities.
- Users accepting a slightly heavier design (22 kg) for a durable steel deck.
- Choose LM46Z-2L for:
- Medium-sized lawns needing similar power (4.0 HP) but with self-propulsion, 3-in-1 discharge, and a larger 70-litre grass bag.
- Choose LM56Ze-2L-P(XP200AE) for:
- Large lawns or tough grass requiring high power (6.5 HP), wide cutting width (56 cm), and maximum comfort (electric start, variable speed).
MacIntel –
Value is cost plus quality. I had an electric mower and I got tired with the ballet I had to play with the power cord. Some of the features are pretty flimsy, but everything has worked without incident. Wheel height adjustment is the easiest I’ve seen and the grass catcher is a simple design that is easy to put back on the mower. Does what it supposed to do with no issues, and the price was the lowest I’ve seen for a battery powered mower. .
